L.A. Textile and Magnet Winners!

Congratulations to Amanda Wynne who had one of the lucky numbers drawn last week - watch your mailbox, your goodies are on thier way!


Last week we went fabric shopping for our Fall 2011 season and Spring 2012 season in Los Angeles. I always wish that I could be an obnoxious tourist and take pictures of all of the fun things we see at the textile show at the California Market Center. I have tried to discreetly take pictures with my phone, but the quality is pretty awful. Here are a couple, but forgive the poor quality!

When we go to LA for the textile show, we stay downtown at the Hilton Checkers Hotel. It is a nice hotel, geared towards weekday business travelers. But, we always crack up at the swimming pool! It is a rooftop pool, and it is pretty cool to go up there and be surrounded by the tall buildings of downtown LA, but really, can you call this a pool? It is more like a large bathtub!

Our hotel overlooks a really cool rooftop that belongs to this building, the Los Angeles Public Library.


I always laugh when we walk up to the front entrance of the California Market Center. Just outside the main doors to the left is a little convenience store, with this sandwich board outside.

I mean, really, what more could you need?

The people watching at the textile show is always a hoot. I loved this lady matched her hair with her dress. Don't we all do that?

Sadly, I didn't get a picture of the grown man with the bear hat on, but it resembled this one...


On another note, we bought some really fabulous fabrics for our fall season and they have already started to arrive. I cannot wait for you to see them! We just finalized our fall trunk show schedule.
