Update on my Marine

I wanted to say thank you to all of those kind, kind people who commented on Liz's post about my husband leaving for Iraq. You wrote the nicest things and I want you to know how much I appreciate each and every word.
He is doing well and getting settle in as well as he can. So many Americans have friends, neighbors and loved ones who have served in Iraq since the war started, so this may sound familiar to you.
He tells me it is quite hot there - average temperature of 130. Yep, you read that right. 1.3.0. Hard to believe, isn't it? Yikes!
He works seven days a week there, so I have to imagine it feels a little like groundhog day - one day just like the next. We have pretty good communication via the computer, unexpectedly good, actually. So, cross your fingers that continues. The girls have enjoyed being able to "see" Daddy on the computer screen. Although, I think they are just as tickled at being able to see themselves on the computer too!!
Here is a picture he sent me this week.

Wow, that is unbelievable. It doesn't matter how many people have family members over there, you are still unique and brave for supporting your husband and family while he is gone. God bless!

Missy- thanks for the update. I'm so glad that you have been able to stay in good contact so far, especially for the girls' sake. Hang in there...hopefully, you'll be so busy with SFV this fall that the time will just fly by! love ya!

OOOH RAHHHH to that handsome young marine. Send him our love and tell him we are so proud of him and what he does...

Oh, and we sold our house, we'll be moving out Sept 17. Tell him that, too. ;-) We'll be on watch for him while he's gone.
