Teacher Appreciation Week

Well, we have had some sort of yucky germs floating around here this week. NO - it isn't the swine flu. For Pete's Sake! So, the girls have not been to school much this week. But, we did manage to put together a little crafty goodness for the girls' teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.

The best part about the gift is that it is a creative, inexpensive expression of how much we appreciate the girls' teachers, and one that the girls could participate in creating.

Ingredients: wooden frames from Ikea. $1.99 (I think - I have had them for awhile). Box of crayons ($4.99 for 64 - we had lots of leftover!), cardstock, computer and printer.

I fed the cardstock into the printer and played around in microsoft picture it until I found the font I wanted to use - Mr. Giggles - I use that font for lots of things. I just love it!

Once I printed it out, I used a bread knife and cutting board to cut the crayons. The girls picked the colors they wanted to use and chose what order they should go in. Then, I hot-glued the crayons to the cardstock to shape the letters. Insterted the cardstock into the frame (removing plastic from front of frame) and I was done!

I wish I remembered where the idea originally came from. I just know that I read about it on the Tip Junkie Blog.

That is precious! I used to be a teacher and I would have loved to receive that as a gift!

What a cute idea, I am sure that the teachers love the thought and creativity that both you and the girls put into their gifts!
