Santa's Workshop Part One

We had a pretty creative Christmas around here. The husband and I helped Santa to make the girls a playhouse this Christmas. I had seen a playhouse online and really wanted the girls to have one like it. Sadly, the person didn't provide instructions, so we had to figure it out on our own. But, she did provide a heck of a lot of inspiration! We drew out a rough plan, bought the PVC pipe and got started. The husband decided it would be a shame to waste the extra PVC pipe, so he made it taller. If ever there is an NBA player in the neighborhood, they can comfortably play inside the playhouse, as it is 8 1/2 feet tall in the center!! The extra height created some challenge as to how to use the fabric I had decided to use for the playhouse. I was determined to make this a "green" project by utilizing material that I already had in my stash. I was able to use some canvas I had purchased several years ago to make some chair covers that never got made. My good friend, Jayne, helped me ALOT with this project (thank God for Jayne!) and also contributed some old fabrics she had in her stash.
It is still a work in progress, as I intend to add a few extra touches - flowers in the flower boxes, a door bell, and a sign for above the door that can be interchangeable - one that says "3 Sisters Sweet Shop" and another that says "Home Sweet Home".
But, life is a work in progress, don't ya think?

Here is the welcome mat. It folds up and velcros to make a door.

Here is Shady, making herself right at home!

Here is one side of the playhouse.

The window boxes have slits in them so we can add flowers later.

The opposite side of the house has one window and a mail slot.
