Leap Day!
I know that Leap Year comes along every 4 years. It is a certainty. But, somehow it always seems to sneak up on me! As it has done yet again this year.
The last leap day we had, my oldest daughter was 5 and I had fun making leap day a little special for her. I had gone to the dollar store and bought a ton of little green frogs (leap - get it?) - they were cute, rubber-duckyish frogs, not icky ones. And I put them all over the house. There was one perched next to her toothbrush, one in the refrigerator next to the milk, one on top of her school clothes, one tucked into her shoes - you get the picture.
I am not sure what I am going to do for leap day this year. But, since it is tomorrow, I better hurry and figure it out!

Planning ahead
As most of you know, we travel to Los Angeles to do our fabric buying at the LA Textile fabric show, but we also go up from time to time to pick up a few things we need and we have the best time browsing for fabrics and trims.
We traveled to LA this past Friday and I wanted to share a few pictures with you...
I loved this fabric - it totally reminds me of that crazy kid's show - Yo Gabba Gabba!
We get some of our ribbons from a place that has just shelves and shelves of ribbons. I just love the polka dots - totally fun!
I loved this knit fabric - the blue color reminds me of the Tiffany blue color...
Of course, we loved that aqua knit fabric - the one wayyyyyy up there at the top!
It is just fabric heaven here!
Another of our favorite stops - the trim store!!
Loved this knit fabric - reminds me orange sherbet!
Here is Jessica feelin' a little fabric love!
As I sat on the street corner eating my bacon dog, this was the view of the front of some of the fabric stores nearby - very colorful!
One of the must-do things in the fabric district in LA, is to experience a bacon dog. The hotdogs are wrapped in bacon and grilled, topped with grilled onions, and fresh guacamole. You cannot imagine how incredibly delicious these are!!
Lastly, I fell in love with this shade of periwinkle knit...

Valentine's Day Roundup
We have had a whirlwind month here, so I apologize for writing this Valentine's Day post over a week after Valentine's Day. But, there was such cuteness to be had around here on Valentine's day, I can't not post about it!
I did create the handmade Valentines that I had planned for the girls to hand out to their friends. They turned out pretty cute if I don't say so myself!
I had found the idea here, and she so graciously provided the free printables, which made them so easy!
I ordered the boxes from Paper Mart in the size that was recommended (3.5"x5"), but I think I would definitely go with smaller boxes the next time, maybe 1 1/4" x 4".
My sweet neighbor, Sydney, hosted a little girl's Valentine party with all sorts of fondue and funness! My girls had a fantastic time!
Each table was adorned with white paper and crayons for coloring, and a fondue pot.
No question the kids loved the Chocolate dipped marshmallows the best!
Boys have fun too! :)
Cheese fondue was served with cocktail weenies and bread.
I helped out by rimming the mason jars with melted white candy coating and sprinkles, which was adorable with the pink milk that was served!
Aren't these strawberry skewers fantastic?
Sophia loved the pink milk!
I also made these pretzel rods. Funny though, one of my little neighbors kept bringing them over to me so I could break off the candy part so he could just eat the plain pretzel part!
The kids served themselves from this fabulous dispenser!
There were games and party favors!
And there was Valentine cookie decorating too!
It was so beautifully done and the girls just loved it! I hope that your Valentine's Day was just as sweet!
