Have y'all met Jona? She is inspiring for so many reasons. Her blog, Stop staring and start sewing is inspiring if you like to sew or craft, plus she sells fabulously beautiful fabrics and has even started designing her own patterns. I get to meet her at Quilt market and I am so excited! Anyway, so I don't actually "know" Jona either, but I feel like I do. In Jona's house, she has a turquoise dresser and mirror...I love it...I have been stalking it...commenting on it...I am just completely obsessed with it (Jona will probably run screaming at QM). I decided I MUST have something like that in my house. For those who don't follow Jona, a pic of her living room with the fabulous dresser
Soooo....I spent all last weekend helping with my church garage sale. Looking at tons of people's junk and trying to find a treasure. I came across this:
Can you say 70's? It had a a table, 4 chairs and a hutch to match. I cannot imagine what that room must have looked like. You will be happy to know, I only bought the mirror. I bought it with the intent to paint it black. Sober. Safe. Black. and then I thought of Jona and VOILA, TURQUOISE. I love it. It makes me happy. I no longer have to be a dresser stalker. Thanks for the inspiration, Jona!
Oh, don't worry, I'll clean the mirror...I thought it was clean. I guess the camera adds ten pounds and dirt!
I'm SO glad you didn't paint it safe black! That is so beautiful! I'm happy to have inspired you but now none of your furniture is safe because once you start painting things it's hard to stop!
ReplyDeleteI promise I'll try not to run from you at QM (bring cookies just to make sure I stay). ;)
THAT IS SOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME! I am now going to stalk your picture! heh! I want to do something like that, something bold. I have been threatening to paint the kitchen a soft lime & the pantry a happy orange while the hubby is out of town with work. NOW I WANT A FUNKY MIRROR! thanks a lot for putting that in my head! haha
ReplyDeleteI, too, stalk your page & never say anything. I like to call it a "lurker". Sounds better than stalker. Keep up the great blogging, I love it!
Missy, it's FABULOUS! I am so inspired, I need something funky and cool like that for my new house... I"ll be searching starting tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteHilarious! I love the mirror, and your comment about adding ten pounds and dirt is definitely true in my house! :)
